A group that supports young families in the community is celebrating after receiving a donation from Teesside region.
Little Flowers Baby & Toddler Group, in Stockton-on-Tees, received £3,000 from Persimmon Homes, after applying to its Community Champions scheme.
The group supports early years development and has helped countless families in Ingleby Barwick. They say the donation will go towards events for toddlers and babies to enjoy.
Kathy Warrick, Little Flowers Baby & Toddler Group said: “We’d like to thank Persimmon for this donation, which will enable us to promote events for children to learn through play, reducing social isolation.
“We meet every Monday for intergenerational fun and play and support both parents and young children. Learning together helps to reduce isolation in the community and improves physical and mental health.”
Kyle Dobson, Persimmon Teesside Technical Director, said: “It was a pleasure to meet Kathy and the group and see first-hand the valuable work they are doing.
“We are proud to support Little Flowers Baby and Toddler Group, an organisation that does so much for the local community, and we hope this donation goes far in supporting them to continue to help families.”
Councillor Carol Clark, Chair of the Children and Young People’s Select Committee at Stockton Council, said: “I was delighted to be invited by Persimmon Homes to attend the award of £3,000 to Little Flowers Baby and Toddler Group at Ingleby Barwick Community Hall.
“This donation will make a huge difference to this organisation and their continued amazing work with babies and young people in our community.”
