Choosing quality and comfort at Harlestone Grange
When Julie decided to downsize, she was looking for a fresh start in a home that offered comfort, quality and no need for renovation. She found exactly what she was looking for at Harlestone Grange in Northampton – and more. Here’s Julie's story.

"Following my husband passing away in 2023, I was ready to downsize and have a fresh start. I decided to have a new build as I wanted a home that was ready to move into and needed no renovation. I was looking for a 2-bedroom house and after visiting almost all the new build sites in Northampton, I went to Harlestone Grange," Julie explained.
"On my first visit, which coincided with the opening of the show home and sales office, I was immediately drawn to Harlestone Grange and the Alnmouth, which has a good size downstairs, including a cloakroom, and the bedrooms are good too.
Many of the other developers' 2 bedroomed properties I had looked at were very small. From my very first meeting with Tracy and Toni, they were so helpful and friendly." The sales advisors went above and beyond to help Julie through the process, even arranging a special visit for her.
More than she bargained for
"Although there wasn't an Alnmouth available for me to visit at Harlestone Grange, it was arranged for me to go to Overstone Gate the next day." From there, Julie reserved her plot with the guidance of Tracy and Toni, who also took her through the impressive list of Finishing Touches.
"The list of extras is extensive, and I enjoyed choosing many of them! I love my new home, the rear garden has a well-laid patio and healthy-looking grass. To the front, there is a good selection of plants and a tree, with healthy-looking grass. The kitchen is very well laid out with all the good quality appliances I need. Light floods into my home through the large doors to the lounge.
The carpets are very soft. The bathroom and cloakroom are well laid out and have good quality fittings too. The finish is so good, it is decorated well, and the internal doors are beautiful. I just keep finding things that I am delighted with."
Julie isn't just in love with her home, but the surrounding area, too.
"The area is beautiful, with Harlestone Firs a few minutes walk away. Good shops, a new garden centre and a choice of pubs and restaurants are all very close."
Persimmon runs in the family
Julie's history with Persimmon runs deeper than you might think. "Persimmon is a very well-known, established builder," she said. "My father worked for them many years ago, and my sister has a Persimmon home. I knew their homes were well built and they had a good reputation.
I was one of the first to move into Harlestone Grange, and although there is building work going on around me, all the staff are so polite and courteous. I have been asked several times if everything is okay and I am happy. To which I reply, absolutely. I am so looking forward to many happy years here.
I would not hesitate to recommend Persimmon Homes. They are well-built and beautifully finished properties with amazing staff."
