A historic riverside market town with a market square at its heart, Huntingdon has a fascinating local history. It’s been an important place since Roman times, and over time, plenty of ancient buildings have left their atmospheric mark.  There are some lovely independent shops to choose from including, a shopping centre, a weekly market, supermarkets and smaller convenience stores.

For growing families, there are six primary schools to choose from, and for secondary and sixth-form education students have St Peter’s School and Hinchingbrooke School. The Huntingdon Campus of the Cambridge Regional College also offers further education for 16+, apprenticeships, adult education courses and access to higher education.

For a breath of fresh air there’s the country park at Hinchinbrook, the Riverside Park and the Godmanchester Nature Reserve. For sports fans, there’s plenty of leisure facilities, and for a day of culture you can head for world-renowned Cambridge, which is less than 20 miles away.
