Living in Sleaford

Good transport links

Lincolnshire is a rural county with relatively little public transport infrastructure and few major roads. Sleaford is an exception. The town has a train station with direct links to Nottingham, Doncaster, Skegness and Peterborough in around an hour and to Lincoln in less than thirty minutes. There’s also a bus station with services to the surrounding area. The town is close to two major roads, the A15 and A17, that travel north to Lincoln, south to Peterborough, east to Norfolk and west towards the A1.

Great schools

There are a range of nurseries and four primary schools to choose from. Secondary education is well served by three schools with sixth forms, including two grammar schools for girls and boys.

Nearby universities include Lincoln, Nottingham and Nottingham Trent, all of which are ranked in the top 50 in the UK. So, if you’re a family buying a new home, your children will have great options for their education, whatever their age.

A bustling market town

The surrounding countryside and woodlands offer many great opportunities to get outside for walking and cycling. Within the town, you can find The Hub, the UK’s largest exhibition space for craft and design. Cogglesford Watermill is still in operation and you can even have a go at milling flour. The bustling market operates three days a week, in addition to a monthly farmer’s market, where you can find local produce and artisanal crafts. All this, in addition to a range of great shops and eateries, you’ll never be short of something to do.
