Your new build in Leigh has access to 10 local primary schools and two main secondary schools, Bedford High School and The Westleigh School. In nearby Blackwood, there's also St Mary’s Catholic High School. If you need a SEN school, The Holden School provides private education for both primary and secondary aged children. If you're looking for post-16 education, Wigan and Leigh College has five campus locations close to your new home, in Wigan, Leigh and Greater Manchester.

Great shopping from your new build

When you buy a new home in Leigh, you'll have access to the main shopping hub, the Spinning Gate Shopping Centre which sits alongside a mix of high street brands and independent shops in the town. There’s also a choice of big brand name supermarkets as well as great pubs and restaurants where you can relax and watch the world go by. Out of town, the Trafford Centre is Greater Manchester’s very well-known venue for shopping, eating, leisure and entertainment, a supersized palace of pleasure. It’s just 12 miles away from your new house, on the 126 Leigh to Trafford Centre bus route.

Sports and leisure near your new house

Two of the great sporting amenities close to your new build, Leigh Sports Village and the Pennington Flash Country Park provide excellent facilities the whole town can enjoy. The Sports Village is to the South West of the town centre. It’s a state-of-the-art facility for the whole community, with a 12,000-capacity stadium that is home to the Leigh Centurions professional rugby league team and Manchester United Women’s U23s and U19s teams. Close to your new build, Leigh's Pennington Flash Country Park gives everyone a chance to step back and take a breather. Great road and rail networks

Buying a new home in Leigh puts you at the centre of the motorway network of the North West, with cities such as Manchester (14 miles), Wigan (7 miles), Warrington (10 miles) and Liverpool (25 miles) - all within easy reach for work or pleasure. The M6 and M62 are the closest to Leigh, linking to the M57, M58, M60 and M56. Manchester Airport is 20 miles southeast, with a journey time by car of about half an hour. Liverpool John Lennon Airport is much the same distance but is a slightly longer drive from your new home in Leigh. Mainline train services can be picked up at Newton-le-Willows, Ashton-in-Makerfield, Hindley, Westhoughton and Atherton - all close to your new house. Leigh also has a busy bus station with a huge range of bus services throughout the region, including to the famous Trafford Centre.
