Penkridge

The pretty civil parish of Penkridge is a countryside idyll away from the hustle and bustle of normal Midlands towns. The medieval main street, lined with historic buildings and the busy Staffs and Worcs canal bobbing with brightly coloured narrowboats – you would hardly believe it’s just 23 miles from Birmingham!

The village high street is packed with independent shops including a bakery, grocers, butchers, celebration cake maker, gift shop as well as a couple of supermarkets on the edge of town. There are pubs, coffee shops, a library and various community halls supporting everything from scouts and guides to bowling and amateur dramatics. Your new home in this idyllic village has a choice of schools, a main line railway station and is near the M6 too.

Living in Penkridge

Your new home ideally placed for road and rail

Your new home in Penkridge is surrounded by lush Staffordshire countryside - but within easy reach of many of the larger towns and cities. Birmingham, easily accessible from the M6, is just 23 miles to the south, while Stafford is just six miles to the north. Take the A449 south and be in Wolverhampton in under 20 minutes. The M6, M6 Toll and M54 make up the local motorway network, connecting with the M5, M40 and M1 below Birmingham - opening up journeys across the whole country. The M6 Toll can get you to Birmingham airport in less than 40 minutes.

It is also close to the railway station with trains to Birmingham (30 minutes), Manchester (67 minutes) and London Euston (2 hours 30). If you're looking for village living, our new builds could be right up your street.

Everything you need on your doorstep

When you buy a new build in this part of the UK, you can enjoy village life without ever going further afield. The local market, twice-weekly with up to 100 stalls can satisfy your need to buy local.
