Stone
Stone built its prosperity on the Trent and Mersey Canal, which was used for importing materials to the potteries and exporting beer and shoes. While the canal is no longer the hub of industry, it has left behind a handsome town centre graced with a rich array of Georgian residences and a legacy of colourful narrowboats.
Your new home has a good variety of top rated schools, a playground, beautiful wildlife sanctuaries and enjoyable riverside walks nearby. The semi-pedestrianised high street offers a good selection of chain-stores and independent shops, cafes and restaurants as well as a market every Tuesday, Friday and Saturday. Ideally located next to the M6 and with a railway station, it is well located for commutes too.

Living in Stone
Your new home, fabulously foodie
Stone has a foodie reputation with the first Saturday of every month being devoted to Staffordshire’s largest Farmers Markets with over 50 stalls selling everything from local cheeses, meats and fish, to organic fruit and vegetables. There’s also an annual Food & Drink Festival in October packed with chefs giving live talks and cookery demonstrations – there are also tastings, pop-up restaurants and even a beer tent.
The high street also supports an eclectic mix of independent retailers, so you’ll find exotic ingredients close to home at the bakers, butchers and grocers. However, why cook from your new home when you can eat out at the Indian, Italian, Mexican, Chinese? Whatever your world wish, you’ll find it at the cafes and restaurants near your new build.
Great roads straight from your new house
Your new home has the M6 right next door, with excellent access to Birmingham (38 miles), Stoke-on-Trent (8 miles) and the North. The A520 takes you through Leek (16 miles) and onto the Peak District National Park (40 miles).
The train station connects to the West Coast Main Line, in turn connecting your new build to all the major centres of the North West and the Midlands. You’ll be equidistant from Liverpool John Lennon Airport and Birmingham Airport (both 58 miles) for international and domestic flights. First Potteries, Select Bus and Bennett’s Travel operate a range of bus services to and from the town.
A great choice of schools
There are seven primary schools at the heart of your new home, Manor Hill First School, Pirehill First School, St Michael’s CofE First School, St Dominic’s Catholic Primary School, Christ Church CofE First School, Christ Church Academy and Walton Priory Middle School. Also covering primary education is the fee-paying Yarlet School to the south. Also fee paying, St Dominic's Priory School offers through education. There are excellent state secondary school options with Alleyne’s Academy and Walton Priory.
