Castleford is one of the five districts that make up the Wakefield metropolitan district of West Yorkshire. While your new home in Castlefield dates back to Roman times, the town really came into its own and flourished during the establishment of the collieries in the 19th century. Built in 1808 is one of Castleford’s landmarks, the stone three-arch bridge crossing the River Aire. There’s also a curved pedestrian bridge, built 200 years later as part of a regeneration project near the old flour mill.

Rugby League fans will know the town as the home of the Castleford Tigers who secured the League Leaders' Shield in 2017 and reached the Rugby League Challenge Cup finals in 2021. So, if you're looking around for new homes, West Yorkshire is a great place to live!
