Netherton

Netherton is a pleasantly small village with a tight-knit community located in open countryside to the south west of Huddersfield. Your new house is close to the tranquil Blackmoorfoot Reservoir with good walking trails, NT Marsden Moor for interesting birdwatching and the lyrically named Folly Dolly Falls surrounded by woodland. The Infant and Nursery School is within walking distance of your new build, as is a parade of shops with a supermarket, Post Office, nail bar, pub and takeaways.

Nearby Berry Brow railway station offers commuter services to Huddersfield and Sheffield, while a drive into Huddersfield town centre from your new home in Netherton, takes just 10 minutes. If you like sport, the Huddersfield Rugby Union’s ground is about a mile away, or there’s Netherton Moor Road Cricket Club, if you’d like your sport closer to home.

Great transport links straight from your new build

Huddersfield's industrial past has made it a well connected hub with the nearby towns of  Halifax, Bradford, Leeds, Dewsbury, Wakefield and Barnsley. The M62 serves the area from east to west, connecting Leeds with Manchester and Liverpool, passing Huddersfield on its way. The M1 is the north-south route connecting Leeds with Sheffield and beyond. While blissfully off the beaten track, your new home in Netherton is far enough away to enjoy the peaceful surroundings but near enough to take advantage of these excellent transport links.

Head to the Peak District

For a change of scenery, Netherton is in just the right place for an easy day trip up into the Peak District. There are some famous landmarks in this National Park, such as climbing Kinder Scout, the highest point in the Peak District or traversing iconic Pennine Way footpath. Add The Old Nag's head at Edale, plague village Eyam or caving in Castleton and you have a perfect day out!

Huddersfield, great shopping close to home

Huddersfield town centre is a great place to shop and socialise. There’s indoor shopping at the Kingsgate as well as retail therapy at the Pack Horse Centre and Piazza Shopping Centre. There are pedestrianised streets and small arcades offering independent shops, boutiques and more artistic finds. The Huddersfield Open Market at Brook Street is open on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays with a secondhand market on Tuesdays and Saturdays. The town is also well served by many supermarkets.
