Biodiversity boost for Marie Weller Forest School
01 June 2026
Persimmon Homes Midlands has donated a dove cote to Marie Weller Forest School and worked alongside GLN Landscapes, who supported the project through the provision of planters, gates, and soil for the school.
This will provide pupils with regular opportunities for outdoor, hands-on learning that supports their physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development.
The school is located within Persimmon Homes’ The Furlongs development in Towcester.
The donation forms part of Persimmon Homes’ ongoing commitment to supporting the communities in which it builds, while also encouraging local wildlife and environmental awareness.
Claire Dearsley, Sales Director at Persimmon Homes Midlands, commented:
“We are delighted to support Marie Weller Forest School. At Persimmon Homes, we are passionate about creating thriving communities and enhancing biodiversity across our developments.
We hope that the dove cote will provide a valuable habitat for wildlife and an engaging educational feature for pupils to enjoy for years to come.”
Hanna Parsons, the school’s Forest School Lead, commented, “We are incredibly grateful to Persimmon Homes for supporting the development of Weller Woods by donating much needed items which will enhance the children's experiences and accelerate the creation of the site.
The support of local businesses, like Persimmon Homes, is vital to our mission and we are always keen to collaborate with companies who share our vision."
