A charity helping to bring a smile to thousands of children this Christmas is celebrating after receiving an “overwhelming” donation.
Cash for Kids, in Leeds, has received a huge boost this festive period after it was awarded £10,000 from Persimmon Homes’ Charitable Foundation.
The donation has gone towards the charity’s Mission Christmas campaign, which is the largest Christmas toy appeal in the UK. Through the power of generous donations, it is working to deliver toys to more than 16,000 children in West Yorkshire.
The donation will go towards the toy drive and will help in getting a toy to every child in the region for Christmas.
Persimmon were recently on-hand to deliver the cheque to the charity, in-person, at Cash for Kids’ hub and see first-hand the donations being prepared for families.
Lisa Sullivan, Charity Manager of Cash for Kids North and West Yorkshire, said: “It is so overwhelming to receive a donation of £10,000 from the Persimmon Charitable Foundation.
“This donation couldn’t have a come at a better time, when we still have many thousands of children that still need our help. With this donation we have bought gifts for the older children. We can’t thank them enough for their extreme generosity and kindness”
Anthony Vigor, Chair of the Persimmon Foundation, said: “We are delighted to support such a worthwhile cause this Christmas. It’s so moving to see the work that is going in to supporting local families and we are proud to play a small part in helping Cash for Kids in their mission this year.
“The Persimmon Foundation works to support communities local to us and we know this donation will make a real difference to so many families.”
The Persimmon Charitable Foundation was set up in 2015 to help support communities across the country, with a particular focus on young people.
Since 2021, the Foundation has donated more than £3 million to good causes.
