Developer donates funds to North Northamptonshire Hospice

20 January 2026

A North Northamptonshire charity has secured a £5,000 donation from Persimmon Homes Midlands, helping to support the charities development of a bereavement programme.

Cransley Hospice Trust received the funding boost from Persimmon Homes Midlands as part of its Community Champions initiative.

The Kettering-based charity supports specialist palliative and end-of-life care to the people of North Northamptonshire, supporting patients with life-limiting illnesses and their families with compassion, dignity, and expert medical care.

The charity launched The Hummingbird Bereavement Service to support patients with a life-limiting illness, their families and friends in the summer of 2025, and the Memory Box project in 2022. The memory boxes help children process grief through age-appropriate books, comfort items, and conversation tools, helping them remember their loved ones in a positive way.

Olivia Bonner, Trusts and Foundation Community Fundraiser at Cransley Hospice said:

"Persimmon Homes' generous donation of £5,000 means the world to us at Cransley Hospice Trust and will help boost the support for patients, families and friends who need the services. It was great to meet the local team from Persimmon to show them some of the things we are doing for hospice care and how the support of the community can make a difference to local people.”

Guy Summerill, Deputy Managing Director at Persimmon Homes Midlands said:

“What we do is about much more than just building homes, it’s about leaving a lasting impact in the communities that we build in. We’re always delighted to lend a hand to local charities to boost their ongoing initiatives or contribute to causes that mean a lot to them.”

“It’s an honour to be able to offer this £5,000 donation to Cransley Hospice Trust who do some amazing work in the north of the County. We hope this will go some way to meeting their wider fundraising target, helping those who benefit from the hospice make memories with their loved ones and receive the right support.”
