MP Meets Developer at Major Doncaster Housing Development
27 May 2026
Lee Pitcher MP has met housebuilder Persimmon on site at a large housing development taking shape on the edge of Doncaster.
Representatives from Persimmon updated the MP on progress at the large Warren Park development in the Bessecar area of the city.
Around 900 new homes will be delivered when all phases of the site are completed, providing a mix of properties ranging from 2-bed to 5-bedroom houses. Over 50 homes will be transferred to a registered housing provider.
Two new show homes have recently opened on the site with Persimmon selling under both its Persimmon and Charles Church brands.
The Charles Church portion of the development has been named Hatchell Grange.
Lee Pitcher, MP for Doncaster East & the Isle of Axholme said: “It was great to have a productive meeting with representatives from Persimmon to discuss the issues that residents raised with me at a recent street surgery.
“I was pleased to hear about the progress being made by Persimmon now on the on-site play parks, and to agree on action to improve road markings and safety, as well as changes to the site newsletter so that residents are kept better informed about progress on the development.”
Graham Whiteford, Persimmon Yorkshire Planning Director, said: “We were delighted to host Lee Pitcher MP on site and update him on progress since we last met.
“As this is such a large site, we’re obviously keen to keep residents and stakeholders updated as we continue to deliver much needed new housing.
“We’ve recently opened two new show homes on site and this summer two new play areas will be opened to residents.
“Taking on suggestions from customers, we are also looking at making improvements to road markings on site which will be detailed in our next residents’ newsletter.”
