New homes in County Durham given the green light

More than 100 new homes near Durham city centre have been given the green light.
Durham County Council have voted to approve 104 new homes, in Sacriston, in an application put forward by Persimmon Homes.
Persimmon will deliver a range of house types and sizes, including 11 bungalows and the site will consist of 2-4 bedroom properties. Of these homes, 15% will be provided as Affordable Housing comprising of Discount Open Market Housing and Affordable Rent.
Persimmon is also going to contribute towards education, open space and healthcare in the area. The site will also include a provision of natural greenspace, including a children’s play area. Built to new building regulations, all homes will be fitted with EV chargers and air source heat pumps.
