New homes in Hartlepool given the green light

Plans for more than 100 homes in Hartlepool have been given the green light.
Hartlepool Councillors approved plans by Persimmon Homes' Charles Church brand for 116 new homes on land south of Elwick Road, in High Tunstall.
Located about 10 minutes away from Hartlepool town centre, the development will see a broad range of 4 to 5 bedroom homes.
Outline permission for the site was granted in 2019, with work already underway on another section of the wider allocation.
Developer funding contributions have already gone towards the delivery of the new bypass. A further contribution will help to fund a new school, a new country park and the maintenance of new public open spaces and play facilities.
Richard Holland, Persimmon Teesside Planning Director, said: "We are delighted to have these plans for new, high-quality homes in Hartlepool approved.
"This site will provide broad mix of homes and vast amounts of public open space, which we believe will prove popular with local homebuyers."
