Persimmon Homes North Scotland provides £500 to help attract young players and improve facilities.
A Fife bowling club is hoping to inspire a new generation of players after receiving a £500 donation from Persimmon Homes North Scotland.
Newburgh Bowling Club has been awarded the funding through Persimmon’s Community Champions scheme, which supports charities, clubs and community groups in the areas where the company builds new homes.
The club is working to secure its long-term future by attracting new members and strengthening links with the wider community. Plans are underway to work with the local primary school to introduce children to the sport, with the hope of encouraging families to get involved as well.
The donation will help purchase junior equipment including bowls, shoes and mats, making it easier for young people to take part. A portion of the funding will also go towards improvements to the club’s locker room facilities.
James MacKay, Regional Managing Director of Persimmon Homes North Scotland, said:
“Newburgh Bowling Club is doing fantastic work to keep this important community facility thriving and to introduce more young people to the sport.
“By working with local schools and families, the club is helping bring the community together and ensuring that bowls continues to be enjoyed by future generations. We are delighted to support their efforts through our Community Champions programme.”
Phil McIntosh said:
“This funding is a real boost for our club. It will help us provide equipment for young players and improve our facilities, which is vital as we work to attract new members and secure the future of the club. We’re very grateful to Persimmon Homes North Scotland for their support.”
