Norfolk-focused charity awarded £2,000 donation
05 June 2026
Our Anglia region has donated £2,000 to The Matthew Project, supporting the charity’s vital work with individuals and communities affected by substance misuse and mental health challenges.
Debi Sherman, Planning Director at Anglia, recently visited The Matthew Project to present the cheque in person. During the visit, she met with trustee Dr Richard Codman and members of the team, gaining first-hand insight into the wide range of services and facilities the organisation provides.
The Matthew Project delivers essential support across the region, offering tailored programmes, outreach services and safe spaces designed to empower individuals on their recovery journey and improve wellbeing.
The charity also provides additional support through alternative forms of therapy, such as art workshops and woodwork classes, where members can also gain new skills.
Speaking following the visit, Debi Sherman said "It was a privilege to meet Dr Codman and the dedicated team at The Matthew Project. Seeing the facilities and hearing about the impact of their work really demonstrated how important these services are to so many people. We are proud to be able to contribute and support the continuation of their incredible efforts."
The Matthew Project CEO, Rachel Chapman said “A huge thank you to Persimmon Homes Anglia for their generous donation. Contributions like this make a real difference, helping people throughout our community recover from the effects of drug and alcohol use. We were delighted to be able to welcome Debi and her colleagues giving them the opportunity to see our work first-hand and hear directly from individuals who have rebuilt their lives. “
We're committed to supporting local communities through our Community Champions initiative, providing funding to organisations that make a positive difference in the areas where we build.
