Persimmon Homes Severn Valley supports Gloucestershire flagship event

22 July 2026

Kingswood Village Ball

Severn Valley region has donated £1,000 to the Kingswood Village Ball, Cloverlea Gardens development is near Wootton-under-Edge.

Persimmon Homes Severn Valley has made the contribution as part of its Community Champions programme which sees £700,000 go to good causes and much-valued institutions across Britain each year.

The Ball raises thousands of pounds every other year, with proceeds being reinvested back into the village of Kingswood, where Persimmon is selling the final plots at its site. The event is a staple of the local calendar and tickets are already sold out.

There are six properties left for sale at the development – two three-bed properties and four four-bed homes – available from £375,000.

The 54 homes at Cloverlea Gardens will be equipped with solar panels and electric vehicle charging points, while the development will see £218,000 and £10,600 go towards secondary education and libraries in the area, respectively, as part of the developer’s community financial contributions.

Recent local recipients of Community Champions funding include Stroud Foodbank, the Nelson Trust, and Kingswood Defib Awareness Group who will install a defib on the site once complete.

Commenting, Persimmon Homes Severn Valley Sales Director Carly Spear said:

“With our presence in Kingswood drawing to a close, we really wanted to support another community institution as part of our commitment to leaving a positive and lasting legacy where we build.

“So, we were delighted to hear that the Village Ball were seeking supporters for this popular event, especially knowing all the money raised is reinvested in the community. We wish the organisers and attendees the very best for the day.”

Guy Lendon from Kingswood Village Ball added:

“On behalf of the Ball’s organising team, I would like to thank Persimmon for their support, not just because it will help the event itself but because it marks a further investment from them into our village.”
