An independent book shop recently organised a very special book signing at a Kenilworth school.
Kenilworth Books, who are based in Talisman Square in the town, organised the event for Pointless-fame Alexander Armstrong who was signing copies of his latest book – Evenfall: The Golden Linnet.
Alexander joined over 300 pupils from St. John’s Primary School, Parkhill Junior School, Priorsfield Primary School, St. Nicholas Primary School, St Augustine’s Catholic School and Clinton Primary School at the newly opened Kenilworth School on Glasshouse Lane.
Coaches for the visit were sponsored by housebuilder Persimmon Homes who have two developments in town – Kenilworth Gate and Thickthorn Gardens. The company also gave out copies of their ‘Cones’ books which takes children on a journey of how a house is built and about safety on site.
Speaking about the event Deborah J Texeira, Children's Book Seller and Schools Event Coordinator at Kenilworth Books said:
“It was great to draw together pupils from across various schools in Kenilworth to listen to Alexander talk about the inspiration for his latest book. A huge thank you to Persimmon Homes for sponsoring the cost of the coaches. This meant that nearly 200 pupils were able to attend the event without incurring any additional costs to the schools or families.
Danielle Thompson, Sales Adviser from Persimmon Homes Central said:
“It was great to meet Deborah, Alexander and the team as well as all the students who took part in this event. I am pleased we were able to support by offering transport to those schools that were a little further away so that they too could enjoy the event.”
