It’s a 20-minute drive into Glasgow and a 50-minute drive east to Edinburgh. The A71 passes the village to the north, on its way to Kilmarnock, and then Irvine on the Ayrshire coast. It is linked to the A73 and the A71 by the B7011 which is the main road through the village. If you want to travel into Glasgow by train, it’s a few minutes drive to the train station at Carluke, then around 40 minutes to Glasgow Central. You are just 30 minutes from Glasgow Airport via the M74, and Edinburgh Airport is just a little further, via the M8, so you can travel anywhere in the world.
Great education for the family
The countryside is a great place to raise children, and you'll have the Primary School within walking distance of your new build. If you have older children, a short school bus ride will take them to Carluke High School and St Aidans High School in Wishaw. South Lanarkshire College at East Kilbride is a popular option for sixth form and further education - or head into Glasgow itself for even more choice.
Great shopping a short drive away
With its local facilities and convenience store the areas will be enough to satisfy your day to day shopping needs. If you'd like a supermarket with more choice, Carluke and Wishaw has the national chains. If you'd like to shop for gifts or clothes, eat global foods, and go to the theatre, galleries or museums, then a day out in Glasgow or Edinburgh is a must.
