Persimmon Homes

Your new home in Cumbernauld has enjoyed a fast evolution. Back in the 1950s Cumbernauld was designated as one of Scotland’s new towns and grew from a tiny village into a city. Today, your new home retains its modernist past with brave architecture, public artworks, town underpasses and brutalist buildings.

The town centre is home to the first ever shopping centre in the UK, the Cumbernauld Centre and is also packed with shops and eateries as well as a sports centre, schools, college and places of worship. Town planners included 50% green space and four nature reserves when designing the town, and it has received a clutch of awards including a Beautiful Scotland Award for Best Small City and a Garden for Life Bio-Diversity Award. Designed to make commuting in and out of the city easy, roads flow easily with Arria (the Cumbernauld angel of the north), overseeing the cars that zip by on the M80 between Glasgow and Fife.
