Lydney sits on the western banks of the Severn, overlooking the Cotswold Hills that dominate the east of the county and the Wye Valley National Landscape and Wales to the west. To the north, the exquisite Forest of Dean welcomes hikers and mountain bikers year-round.

The great outdoors

Perfectly located between the Wye Valley National Landscape and the Forest of Dean, a new house here is a mecca for people who love the great outdoors. There's world-class mountain biking and hiking on your doorstep, as well as the historic Tintern Abbey just a short drive away. 

If you were born to shop, you are close to plenty of options - including Cheltenham with its designer boutiques, cavernous arcades and Michelin-starred dining.

Shopping close to your new home

Lydney has got a great range of local shops to choose from, and there’s a superstore supermarket as well as a couple of convenience stores.  From your new build, you can head north to Coleford or Gloucester for a greater selection of high street shopping, or down to Chepstow. If you want to combine a designer shopping trip with eating out, and leisure, the Gloucester Quays outlet is on the Lydney side of town.

Commuting about town

You have easy access to the A48 which can speed you to Gloucester (20 miles) and Worcester (47 miles) to the north. Or head south down the A48 to Chepstow (9 miles) and onto the M4 to Bristol (27 miles). 

The train station is on the Newport to Gloucester line, with trains to Gloucester taking a scenic 20 minutes. Bristol is the nearest international airport, taking about an hour to drive. If you'd rather take the bus, Stagecoach West 23 bus route goes through, taking about an hour to Gloucester.
