A historic town with lots to do
The focal point of Tewkesbury is the 900-year-old Abbey, which sits close to the joining of two rivers, the Avon and the Severn. The town's medieval roots and Tudor roots can be seen in the ancient bblack and white timber buildings in the High Street. Meanwhile the twice-weekly market, monthly farmers' market and several Food and Arts Markets each year keep the town alive and buzzing. With a new home here you'll never be short of things to do.
Great local amenities
Despite its historic roots, Tewkesbury has everything you need for daily life. Independent shops sit side by side with national brands. There are three supermarkets for your weekly shop - Tesco, Aldi and Morrisons. There's a local leisure centre, or if you like being active outdoors, you could go paddleboarding on the River Severn. There’s also a sailing club, and the town is on Route 45 of the National Cycleway Network. For something less energetic, boat trips on the River Avon are a wonderful way to see the sights.
