172 new homes approved for next phase of major Didcot development
13 January 2026
Persimmon Homes Wessex has received reserved matters approval from Vale of White Horse District Council for the next phase of development at Valley Park, Didcot.
This latest phase will deliver 172 new homes, 61 of which will be reserved for a local housing association, following the design principles set out in earlier phases and the site-wide Design Code.
Construction on Phase 3A and 3B of Valley Park will commence in a matter of weeks with its first occupations expected to be in place later this year.
The news comes only weeks after builders broke ground on delivering the three-form entry primary school, which will include a nursery and community-use spaces, located adjacent to Common Park and the Local Centre.
Once complete, Valley Park will provide 4,254 homes, two primary schools, a SEN school, local centres, and sports facilities – creating a sustainable, well-connected community for the Oxfordshire town.
The accredited five-star housebuilder currently has homes available to purchase on the open market at Valley Park, available from £216,995. Its sister company, Charles Church, also has premium homes for sale on its outlet from £384,995.
Commenting, Persimmon Homes Wessex Managing Director Seb Spiller, said:
“Valley Park has been a great success story so far and we are making swift progress on delivering on our commitment to bring new housing and infrastructure to Didcot.
“Therefore, securing another reserved matters consent was an early Christmas present that gave local contractors and residents confidence that the progress on expanding Didcot in a sustainable and advantageous way will continue.
“As with previous phases, we have ensured our latest application will be well integrated into the wider development with strong links to community focal points, whilst continuing to deliver high-quality homes for our customers.”
