Latest commitment on affordable homes delivered in Warminster

24 November 2025

The builder behind the major Jubilee Gardens development in Warminster has handed over the latest tranche of properties to a local housing association.

Persimmon Homes Wessex have formally transferred 15 high-quality homes to Selwood Housing on the second phase of the major site in the west of the Wiltshire town. 13 are designated for shared ownership and two for affordable rent.

The handover was marked on site alongside local Wiltshire councillor Russell Hawker and Warminster Mayor Andrew Cooper.

Jubilee Gardens will provide 1,000 much-needed new homes in the area once complete, as confirmed in the outline planning permission, 300 of which will be for a housing association. The planning application for the fourth phase of 266 properties was submitted this summer.

Two, three, and four-bed homes are available for purchase from £259,995 at Jubilee Gardens.

Seb Spiller – Managing Director of Persimmon Homes Wessex – said:

“Persimmon is delighted to partner once again with Selwood Housing after establishing a positive relationship with them across multiple sites over the years.

“Tackling the housing crisis requires a positive and collaborative approach, and we were pleased to welcome Cllr Russell Hawker and Mayor Cooper of Warminster Town Council to the site so they could see this in action.

“We're committed to working closely with our housing association partners such as Selwood Housing and the local authority, to deliver high-quality new homes for local people in Warminster and right across Wiltshire.”

Paul Walsh – Group Development Director for Selwood Housing – added:

“At Selwood Housing, we’re committed to working in partnership to deliver high-quality, local affordable homes where they’re needed most, and Jubilee Gardens is a great example of that.

“This development has a real sense of place, and we have been really impressed with the quality of the properties we are taking on here in this thriving, well-connected neighbourhood."

Cllr Russell Hawker – Wiltshire councillor for Warminster West – commented:

“It was a pleasure to meet once again with Persimmon and Selwood Housing as they work together to bring new, high-quality homes to Warminster to meet the rising demand for housing in this part of Wiltshire.

“We all want to see a range of homes put in place to cater to the different housing requirements of people across the town, and this a great example of how this is being brought forward.”

Andrew Cooper – Mayor of Warminster – also said:

“I would like to thank Persimmon and Selwood Housing for inviting us to Jubilee Gardens to mark this milestone, which is really important in demonstrating to the community how parties are working together to bring valuable and affordable housing to the area for those who need it.”
