Local homebuilder supports outdoor learning at Stirling school

Persimmon Homes has donated £5,000 to Bannockburn Primary School to help fund new outdoor classroom.
Bannockburn Primary School in Stirling has received a £5,000 donation to help create a new outdoor classroom, enhancing learning opportunities for pupils and staff throughout the year.
The funding comes from Persimmon Homes East Scotland through its Community Champions initiative, supporting the school’s plans to develop an inspiring space where children can learn, explore, and enjoy nature as part of their curriculum.
Teachers and pupils welcomed representatives from Persimmon to the school for the cheque presentation. The donation will help transform an outdoor area into a versatile learning environment, giving pupils more opportunities for hands-on, creative, and collaborative learning.
Hayley Cleland, Head Teacher at Bannockburn Primary School said:
“We were delighted to welcome Persimmon Homes, to our assembly, where they presented us with a cheque for £5000.
“The school celebrated its 60th Birthday this year. What a birthday present this was! Our grounds are in much need of improvement, and our aim was to raise funds, along with our Parent Council, to enhance grounds.
“The Community Champions Initiative grant from Persimmon will allow us to create an outdoor space which will enhance our outdoor learning. Persimmon speak of giving back to the communities that they build in, and they certainly have done this for us. They will be leaving a lasting legacy of their generosity at Bannockburn Primary.”
Neil Parry, Persimmon Homes East Scotland Managing Director, said:
“We’re delighted to support Bannockburn Primary School with funding for their new outdoor classroom.
“As we create our new community at Brucefields, it’s important to us that we give back to local groups and help strengthen the areas where we build. This project will provide lasting benefits for pupils and staff, and we’re proud to play a part in making it happen.”
The contribution builds on Persimmon’s growing community support across Stirling. The five-star homebuilder is currently delivering Brucefields, a new community nearby, and has supported several local organisations — including Recyke-a-Bike, Ladies of the Rock, and serving as headline sponsor of the Stirling 900 celebrations earlier this year.
