New homes for local people handed over in Falmouth
29 May 2026
The developer behind the Eve Parc site in Falmouth has handed over 12 properties to a local housing association, alleviating housing need in the town.
Cornwall & West Devon marked the transfer to Coastline Housing on-site in April alongside Cornwall Council’s Portfolio Holder for Planning, Cllr Sarah Preece.
The homes, all of which will be for shared ownership, will provide Affordable Housing for local people, helping more households put down roots and access secure, good-quality homes in an area where affordability can be a challenge. A further two units will be transferred in June.
The properties are situated on the fourth phase of the development. When planning consent was awarded, it also triggered financial contributions worth over £200,000 for the benefit of healthcare, education, transport, public open space, and public rights of way in the area, as well as the Fal and Helford special area of conservation.
The accredited five-star housebuilder currently has three and four-bed homes for purchase at Eve Parc, available from £319,995. When complete, the site will have seen over 300 new homes built in an effort to tackle Cornwall’s housing crisis.
Coastline Housing is an independent Cornish charitable housing association owning and managing over 5,500 homes. The landlord has committed, working alongside its partners, to building around 300 new affordable homes each year up to 2030 to help families and individuals struggling with housing.
Cornwall & West Devon Managing Director, Andy Hill, said:
“Persimmon is very proud of the housing we are delivering in Falmouth, especially our housing association properties that will go towards housing families on the Councils’ waiting list.
“Whether they are market or non-market, ensuring a plentiful supply of homes is essential for rural areas like Cornwall to retain its young people and grow the local economy. Replenishing housing stock that is affordable for local people to do this.
“This is all in addition to the community benefits delivered, financial contributions made, and all the construction jobs created on-site by Persimmon for benefit of people in Falmouth.”
Nathan Mallows, Director of Development, Growth and Partnerships at Coastline, added:
“We were delighted to work in partnership with Persimmon to see these affordable homes being made available for local shared owners.
“Working with others is an important part of our mission to help solve the Cornish housing crisis so we are always keen to make the most of partnerships such as these to benefit local people who are in need of a safe, warm and affordable home to call their own.
“We hope the new residents will be very happy here.”
Cornwall Council’s Portfolio Holder for Planning, Cllr Sarah Preece, commented:
“It is always great to see new affordable housing being built, we all know the challenges we face in the housing sector, and these new homes are a step towards ensuring that those most in need can get a high quality, new home.
“I am pleased to see Persimmon and Coastline Housing working together to ensure this is happening in Falmouth and I look forward to seeing even more homes built for local people right across Cornwall.”
