Prestigious award for Persimmon South West site
10 November 2025
A Persimmon Homes development in Devon has won a much-sought Seal of Excellence award.
The accolade, given by the National House Building Council (NHBC), has been awarded to site manager Mark Hambleton and his team, including Assistant Site Manager Jeremy Roberts, for their work at Mill Gardens in Cullompton.
It follows their Pride in the Job award they won earlier this year, which was also given to 14 other site managers across Persimmon in 2025 for their outstanding work in delivering quality new homes. It was Mark’s second consecutive Pride in the Job award for work at the development.
Mill Gardens in Cullompton, aims to meet the high demand for housing in the area, bringing 200 homes to the area for local people once complete. The housebuilder has already committed over £2m towards a new primary school, contributions to early years, secondary and special needs education, a doctors’ surgery expansion, and a town centre road relief contribution as part of its plans.
The Pride in the Job competition is highly regarded in the homebuilding industry, serving as a benchmark for outstanding quality and performance among site managers. This victory means Mark and the team will
compete at the ultimate Pride in the Job Supreme Awards in January 2026.
Commenting on his award, Chair of Persimmon Homes in the South West – Julian Roper – said:
“I am so proud to see Mark bring home a Seal of Excellence Award for our Mill Gardens site in the South West.
“For two consecutive years, Mark and the team have secured a Pride in the Job Award, and now progressing to a Seal shows an incredible dedication to following the Persimmon Way.
“Congratulations to the team at Mill Gardens, who have a consistent record of producing a quality site of which we can all be very proud.”
