Luke Maggs, site manager at the Oak Hill Rise development in Chippenham, has been honoured by the National House Building Council (NHBC) with the prestigious Pride in the Job Quality Award, recognising his exceptional dedication to home construction.

Luke is one of several site managers to receive the prestigious award in 2026, marking another year of recognition for the company’s commitment to quality. At Oak Hill Rise, Luke is supported by assistant site manager, Andy Marriott.

This marks Luke’s third such award (go Luke!) after winning two previously for his work at Persimmon’s Backbridge Farm site in Malmesbury. He rejoined Persimmon’s Wessex business in 2019 after an initial tenure from 2003 to 2016, bringing over two decades of experience in the industry, beginning his career as a bricklayer in the family business.

The Pride in the Job competition is highly regarded in the homebuilding industry, serving as a benchmark for outstanding quality and performance among site managers.

All site managers on NHBC Buildmark warranty-registered sites are eligible to compete. Quality Award winners advance to the Seal of Excellence Award stage, with the opportunity to compete for Regional Awards and the ultimate Pride in the Job Supreme Awards in January 2027.

Luke shared his thoughts on the recognition, stating “I’m honoured to receive this award and have the work I have put in at Oak Hill Rise, Persimmon’s site in Chippenham, recognised by the industry.

“I love being a site manager, pulling together a team to deliver a development – this is not just a project commissioned by an employer, but an essential objective to meet to tackle the country’s housing crisis, building high-quality homes for local people.”

Seb Spiller, Managing Director for Persimmon Homes Wessex, added “This is a fantastic achievement for Luke and further demonstrates that the Persimmon team takes our commitment to delivering high-quality homes seriously as site managers continue their record of winning the accolade at Persimmon developments.

“Luke’s work ethos, professionalism, and experience are a credit to the business and an example of the standards we strive for at every site. This award is well earned and speaks to the pride Luke and his team take in what they do. Go Luke!”
