Reaching new heights with fundraising challenges
15 January 2026
The Essex region has raised over £7,700 after a successful year of fundraising for the Essex and Herts Air Ambulance Trust.
Colleagues at Persimmon Homes Essex, based in Witham, chose the life-saving cause as their Charity of the Year for 2025 and pulled together to raise the record sum.
Six brave colleagues, including Managing Director Richard Hush, took part in a sponsored skydive last spring, and the team also held regular dress down days, bake-off challenges and online bingo sessions.
Stacey Wilson, Fundraising Manager for Essex and Herts Air Ambulance Trust (EHAAT), visited the offices this week to receive the final cheque.
She said: “It was amazing to meet the wider team at Persimmon Homes and thank them for their incredible fundraising efforts over the last year. The charity relies on community support such as this, and we are extremely grateful for their continued commitment and generosity.”
Richard Hush, Managing Director of Persimmon Homes Essex, said: “Last year was our most successful yet in terms of fundraising and I want to thank our team for working together to support such a worthy local charity.
“The EHAAT medics bring advanced clinical care directly to the scene of an emergency, dramatically improving the chance of survival, and I am delighted that our team have been able to support their work and help them to save lives across Essex, Hertfordshire and beyond.”
Councillor Gabrielle Spray, ward member for The Colnes at Braintree District Council, said: “I have been a long-time supporter of the Essex and Herts Air Ambulance Trust, especially as it is based in the village where I live and part of the ward I represent.
“Having the air ambulance based locally is a fantastic asset to the Braintree district, and the Persimmon team have done a great job of fundraising for them which will make such a positive difference to their work.”
Persimmon Homes are committed to creating a positive legacy in Essex and the neighbouring areas where they are building. Each year they offer £24,000 in funding to local schools, community groups and charities through their Community Champions fund.
