Tewkesbury school receives a donation
11 May 2026
Our Severn Valley region (behind the major Fiddington Fields development in Tewkesbury) has chosen a local primary school’s PTFA as its latest Community Champion.
Persimmon Homes Severn Valley presented the £1,000 cheque to pupils and Friends of Tirlebrook Primary School, alongside Mayor of Tewkesbury, Alan Hayes.
The group is only a year old but is already making progress in its goals to work with the school to create the best environment for its children. Funds raised will contribute towards developing the outdoor areas for the pre-school and reception classrooms.
Our Community Champions scheme sees £700,000 donated to good causes and much-valued organisations across Britain each year. Recent local recipients include Tewkesbury Museum, Tewkesbury Food Bank, Tewkesbury Colts FC, and Tewkesbury-based Boxing Clever.
The accredited five-star housebuilder has two, three, and four-bed homes available from £265,000 at Fiddington Fields on the outskirts of Tewkesbury. Persimmon has outline planning permission to deliver 850 homes at the development where a new outlet has opened nearby.
Carly Spear – Severn Valley Sales Director – said: “We're bringing hundreds of much-needed homes for local families to Tewkesbury, and we want to make sure that the schools in the area are well supported.
“Thankfully, Tirlebrook Primary School certainly has that support in the form of its parents, teachers, and friends association, so Persimmon wanted to play our part and lend a helping hand with this donation, and look forward to seeing how it goes towards school improvements.”
Ashleigh Hill – Sponsorship Coordinator for Friends of Tirlebrook Primary School – added “As a relatively new organisation, we are very pleased to have secured some funding to help with improving facilities at the school, and we are very grateful to Persimmon for their support.
“Donations like this from Persimmon make it more achievable to get the ball rolling, so Tirlebrook families thank them for their support.”
Alan Hayes – Mayor of Tewkesbury – commented “As a former teacher myself, it is great to see a local business like Persimmon support one of our local schools like this, but also to see parents and teachers coming together to make the school the best possible environment for its pupils.
“It was a pleasure to mark the donation as my mayoral term draws to a close and I will be looking forward to seeing who will follow in the footsteps of Friends of Tirlebrook Primary School as the next Persimmon Community Champion in the Tewkesbury area".
