North Yorkshire
Are you looking for a new home in North Yorkshire?
North Yorkshire is a mighty county with a mighty landscape. It’s the largest county in England and is the guardian of two great National Parks, the Yorkshire Dales and the North York Moors. It’s an ideal place to set up home if you love the Great Outdoors.
This wide-open county has a mighty embrace that is almost coast to coast. It includes the historic walled city of York and elegant Harrogate, the cheerful seaside resorts of Scarborough and Whitby, the market towns of Bedale and Wetherby, and the picture-perfect villages of Thornton-le-Dale and Hutton-le-Hole. Neighbouring County Durham puts North Yorkshire one step away from the Scottish border via the wild North Pennines. West Yorkshire and South Yorkshire lay claim to city life in Leeds and Sheffield, but North Yorkshire takes the lion’s share of the countryside. Between them, the two National Parks cover 40% of North Yorkshire’s home ground.
Countryside doesn’t mean cut off. The A1(M) cuts right through from north to south linking Newcastle, Durham, Leeds and Sheffield. Cross-country routes and mainline train services converge on York, and Leeds Bradford Airport is just 30 miles away.
