Almost at 60k followers for Hanbury ambassador

When Poppy Hollands and her fiancé Harvey began looking for a home to buy, they turned to Instagram for guidance and inspiration.
Persimmon Ambassador: @Ourhanburyhome21
Now just few short years later, Poppy is one of Persimmon’s Ambassadors with 51,800 followers to her @ourhanburyhome21 Instagram account!
“Harvey and I have been together for seven years and started saving for a deposit for our first home about three years ago,” said Poppy.
“It was three years ago while living at my parents that we started looking at housing developments and house types; we liked the Souter and the Alnwick but the Hanbury just seemed a bit bigger offering better use of space for what we needed. Downstairs is very spacious compared to some of the other house types, and upstairs was just perfect for us.
“It was three years ago while on a trip to Amsterdam that we turned to Instagram and I was able to see what other people had done with their Hanbury, and get a better feel of how the rooms were laid out. We moved into our home two and half years ago and because Instagram had been so useful to us, we decided to start posting about our Hanbury journey.”
Poppy and Harvey create their interior style – as Poppy says, it is a hobby they can enjoy together and both are equally passionate about having a home that is tidy and looks good: “We’re both a bit OCD!”.
Their home if full of muted greys and whites – including the family dog Willow who ‘fits in perfectly’. It’s a minimalist look that the couple have added their own touches to – like the wood panelling to the dining end of their open plan kitchen diner.
“We always wanted to have this wall as a feature wall but were never quite sure what to do with it. We went from wanting prints, to mirrors, then even thought about wallpaper. However, we’d seen a few Instagram accounts doing panelling and we loved it!”
We asked Poppy how it felt to have more than 50,000 people following her every post.
“We hit 20k followers last May, and then it just seemed to go a little bit crazy, even sometimes gaining 500 followers a day! It is a responsibility, but I know how much other people’s Instagram posts helped me and hope I can do the same for other homeowners.”
The couple are happy with their Hanbury home but admit it may have to take a back seat soon – as they plan for their wedding next year.
