Business invests in regional skills

Persimmon has significantly increased its team in the West Midlands with a number of key appointments, underlining its commitment to the region
So far this year, the company had recruited a land negotiator, senior quantity surveyor, assistant surveyor, technical manager, two site managers, a PA for the managing director and a number of sales professionals.
Managing director Steven Hird said: “Despite the challenges thrown up by economic uncertainty over the past few years, Persimmon Homes West Midlands continues to serve the region with quality new homes developments.
“From our regional headquarters in Wolverhampton, we currently operate on five sites across Wolverhampton, Telford and Bridgnorth, with new outlets due to open in Birmingham later this year.
“To ensure the ongoing success of the company, Persimmon West Midlands has made key appointments to strengthen its sales, building and planning teams – and we continue to recruit, ensuring we invest in the skills we need to grow the business.”
Earlier this year, Persimmon added two new construction managers – Peter Thacker and Jamie Flavell – along with technical manager Andy Orton, senior quantity surveyor Russell Griffin, assistant surveyor Aman Bachra and land negotiator Conor Garvey.
“Experienced and skilled site managers are vital to maintaining quality standards across our developments,” said Steven. “And the additions of Andy, Russell, Aman and Conor underline our commitment to investing in land and designing desirable developments.”
Also added to the team have been sales co-ordinator Lorraine Lawrence, trainee sales advisor Marianne Chambers and field sales manager Rita Tyler, all led my newly appointed sales director Stephen Cleveley.
“It gives us a great boost to see so many new faces in the company – and reap the benefits of all their talents,” said Steven, who is now supported by PA Jill Pzsonka. “What’s more, we recently extended the lease on our Wolverhampton offices, committing us to five more years at Venture Court on Wolverhampton Business Park and giving us a stable base for operations.”
