CHAS announced as Persimmon Homes’ Charity of the Year
14 March 2023

Children’s Hospices Across Scotland (CHAS) has been selected as the charity of choice for 2023 by Persimmon North Scotland.
Staff at North Scotland headquarters in Perth will take part in a variety of fundraising activities throughout the year – ranging from sports days to bake sales. The money raised will go towards the vital services that CHAS provides to support families in need.
CHAS has been offering full family support services for babies, children and young people with life-shortening conditions for over 30 years. The charity provides a variety of assistance, from palliative care and family respite to support services in hospitals, hospices and at home.
As well as supporting the charity’s ongoing work across Scotland, the funds raised by our staff will directly benefit Rachel House Children’s Hospice in Kinross. The facility on Avenue Road has a range of facilities, including a hydrotherapy room, large accessible gardens and space for both relaxation and fun for families.
North Scotland’s charity of the year partnership comes in addition to our Community Champions scheme, which sees each of the 30 offices across the UK donate up to £6,000 every quarter to local charities and organisations that make a real difference to people’s lives.
Ruathy Donald, Community Fundraiser at CHAS, said:
“We are absolutely delighted to be chosen by Persimmon Homes’ regional office as their Charity of the Year. We look forward to partnering with them.
“Persimmon’s fundraising will provide vital support to our children and their families so they can make lasting memories at Rachel House and make sure that no-one has to face the death of their child alone.”
James MacKay, Managing Director of Persimmon North Scotland, said:
“We are delighted to be supporting the fantastic work CHAS does in Kinross and across the country by making the organisation our charity of the year.
“Our team were keen to support a charity that makes a real difference to people’s lives and staff have already come up with a number of ideas for activities we can organise throughout the year.
“From office dress down days to large fundraising events, we’re keen to raise as much money as possible to help CHAS continue to deliver the vital services they provide for local families.”
