Homebuyers are being invited to see what homes will look like on a development in Nottinghamshire.

Persimmon Homes has opened the doors to a new show in Mansfield.

Elected Mayor of Mansfield Andy Abrahams was recently on-hand to formally open the show home at a ribbon cutting ceremony.

The new show home, Avalon, sits in between Mansfield and Sutton-in-Ashfield and offers two, three and four-bedroom homes.

The development has open green spaces, easy transport links and, when completed, the site will have 372 homes. 27 of these will be designated for affordable rent and discount market homes.

Mayor Andy Abrahams said: “It is fantastic to see Persimmon investing in Mansfield and helping to meet the growing demand for high-quality homes that will attract families and young professionals to our district.

“I am particularly pleased to see the company's commitment to supporting the wider community through its Community Champions initiative and its interest in working with Mansfield CVS to strengthen local partnerships and opportunities for residents.

“This development demonstrates a strong commitment to sustainability, with features including EV charging points, solar panels, green outdoor spaces and allotments, helping to create a healthier and more environmentally responsible community for the future.

“The provision of 27 affordable homes, including a mix of affordable rent and shared ownership properties, is especially welcome and will help more local people access quality housing.

He added: “It is also encouraging to see Persimmon's commitment to investing in the next generation through apprenticeships and skills development, including exploring opportunities to work with West Nottinghamshire College to support local training and employment pathways.

“Alongside significant investment in public transport, including over £539,000 towards bus services and improved bus stops, this development will help create a well-connected, sustainable community that delivers lasting benefits for Mansfield residents”

Persimmon Nottingham Planning Manager Robbie Steel said: “We are delighted to open the show home at Avalon and invite Mayor Andy Abrahams to see the development at this exciting stage.

“We’re excited for local homebuyers to be given the chance to see the wide range of energy efficient, high-quality homes we have on offer. This development is ideal for first-time buyers and growing families.”
