Persimmon becomes Official Stadium Partner of Bideford AFC in three-year sponsorship deal

Persimmon Homes Cornwall and West Devon, has entered into an official three-year sponsorship agreement with Bideford AFC as part of its Community Champions initiative.

This significant partnership underscores Persimmon’s commitment to supporting local communities and promoting community engagement, aligning with the development in Bideford through its new Abbotsham Park development.

A key highlight of the agreement is the renaming of Bideford AFC’s home ground to ‘The Persimmon Homes Sports Ground’. The naming rights deal marks a new era for both Persimmon and Bideford AFC, showcasing our dedication to supporting local sports and fostering community spirit in the town.

Bideford Association Football Club, nicknamed "The Robins" due to their all-red strip, has a storied history and is a significant part of the local community.

The club currently competes in the Southern League Division One South and the partnership with Persimmon Homes marks an important step in the continued growth and support of the club, which will help enhance their facilities and presence in the footballing pyramid.

This collaboration comes as Persimmon Homes recently launched its Abbotsham Park development in Bideford, which will deliver 200 much-needed homes for local people. The development features a range of one-bedroom plus study to four-bedroom homes, with prices starting from £205,000 to £424,995.

Community-focused amenities such as green spaces, play areas, and a community orchard will be part of the development, alongside sustainability measures like cycleways and footpaths that will contribute to a 10% increase in biodiversity across the site.

This sponsorship is part of Persimmon’s broader mission to leave a lasting legacy in the areas where it operates, which is reflected in previous contributions to local initiatives and charities, where it donates over £24,000 a year across the region.
