The region behind the Jubilee Gardens scheme in Warminster has secured planning consent to deliver its fourth phase.

Persimmon Homes Wessex will now be able to start construction on delivering the 266 new homes. It brings the approved number of dwellings on the site to 772, helping to meet the town’s housing need. Persimmon’s sister brand, Charles Church, will also have a presence on the phase.

Plans for Phase Four include 61 properties for a local housing association. The expected total figure once the site is delivered in its entirety, including the expected future phases, is 300 such homes. This, as well as the market homes, will help local people as it alleviates housing pressure in the area.

The application’s green light paves the way for a large area of public open space, which completes the linear park that was envisioned earlier in the planning process. The site will also host a range of ecological features such as bird and bat boxes.

The entire development will trigger millions of pounds of investment into the community, but this phase alone is expected to generate a significant Community Infrastructure Levy payment.

Jubilee Gardens will also host sports pitches, changing facilities, allotments, and ecology areas once complete. Three, and four-bed homes can already be purchased at the west Warminster site, with prices starting at £316,995. More two-bed homes will come onto the market soon.

Commenting, Persimmon Homes Wessex Managing Director Seb Spiller, said:

“I am pleased that Persimmon has secured its latest planning approval in Warminster, demonstrating our commitment to working with the community to deliver low-cost, high-quality, much-needed homes in the town.

“Creating a sense of place as part of our mission to deliver a positive and lasting legacy is important to Persimmon, and we are evidently bringing that to Jubilee Gardens, not just through new housing, but the supporting infrastructure that goes with it.

“We are extremely proud of what we have achieved on-site already and are proud to have hosted many stakeholders there over the years, so we are very excited to break ground on the next phase as we work with Wiltshire Council to meet our mutual goals.”
