Work underway at Anglia's Hopewell Park development

17 August 2026

Anglia has officially broken ground at its new Hopewell Park development in Old Catton, which is the first phase of the wider 3,500 homes Beeston Park development.

Five-star, Norwich-based housebuilder, Persimmon Homes has secured detailed planning permission for a major new development of 326 homes, delivering a mix of one- to five-bedroom properties alongside significant open space and community infrastructure.

The groundbreaking at Hopewell Park marks a major milestone for this new community and Persimmon are looking forward to delivering a range of high-quality new homes for local buyers and families.

As part of the first phase of the development, £3.2 million in community investment will be delivered to support local infrastructure and services, helping ensure the growing community benefits for both new and existing residents in Old Catton.

As part of the wider development, plans will come forward for a new high street, two new primary schools, a health centre, two community centres and library. In addition to this, over 82.5 hectares of green space will be retained for play and recreation as well as a new country park.

Josh Ford, Deputy Managing Director of Persimmon Homes Anglia, said:
"We're delighted to have officially broken ground at Hopewell Park and to celebrate this important milestone with colleagues on site.

"This development will deliver high-quality homes for local people and bring £3.2 million of investment into the community through its first phase, creating lasting benefits for Old Catton."

Debi Sherman, Director of Planning at Persimmon Homes Anglia added:
“We are delighted to have secured planning permission to enable the first phase of this new development to come forward.

“As a five-star housebuilder, we are committed to delivering high-quality, energy-efficient homes that meet local demand. This scheme will not only provide a wide range of housing, including affordable options, but also provides valuable open space and infrastructure for the wider community.”
Construction is now underway, with customer enquiries open for the new homes.
