Intrepid fundraiser Isabelle Kendall completed the Colchester Half Marathon this weekend in aid of the Essex and Herts Air Ambulance Trust (EHAAT).
It was the first time the Essex-based architectural assistant had taken part in an official running event and she finished in an impressive 2 hrs 34 mins.
The air ambulance was our Essex region’s charity of the year last year and Isabelle was keen to give the cause an extra boost.
Isabelle, 26, said: “I have never run that for before but have worked hard in my training and on the day I dug deep to power through.
“It was such a buzz crossing that finish line, knowing I had not only achieved a personal goal but also raised vital funds for this life-saving charity.”
Essex & Herts Air Ambulance crews deliver advanced pre-hospital care at the scene. They receive no direct government or NHS funding, relying entirely on donations and fundraising to keep their helicopters in the air and their critical care teams on the road.
Last year Persimmon Homes Essex raised £7,700 for the trust and Isabelle’s fundraising takes the total to £8,000.
Isabelle added: “I’m proud to be part of Persimmon Homes, a company that’s committed to supporting local charities and community initiatives. Together, we’re helping to raise funds that will make a real difference — ensuring this amazing service can continue to save lives across our region.”
