10-year-old given grant to help learn to walk

A 10-year-old from Swansea with Cerebral palsy and epilepsy has received a grant from Persimmon to help her learn to walk.
Brooke Lilly Hacker is currently receiving intensive and expensive physiotherapy to help her fulfill her dreams of walking.
She has been handed a £1,000 donation from our West Wales business to help pay for the sessions.
The money comes as part of the Community Champions scheme. Each and every month we donate up to £64,000 to good causes across the UK.
Rebecca Thomas, who applied for the funding for Brooke, said: “We are extremely grateful to Persimmon Homes for this generous donation. It will make a huge difference to her.
“Brooke goes to an amazing physiotherapy centre based in Oxfordshire which does the most incredible work and has helped Brooke to crawl, sit, and walk with aids.
“This kind of physio needs to be regular to enable Brooke to get stronger and stronger so she can do what other children do.
“This type of specialist therapy comes a cost. She is such an inspiration and puts 100 per cent into everything she does and will never give up. Thank you, Persimmon.”
Sharon Bouhali, sales director at Persimmon Homes West Wales, said: “We were touched to hear Brooke’s story and delighted to be able to help cover the cost of some of these vital physiotherapy sessions.
“We wish Brooke all the best for her future and with her goal of being able to walk.”
We have recently launched its new Llys Ystrad development on Llangewydd Road in Bridgend.
With a collection of two, three and four-bedroom homes, the development has something for everyone, from first-time buyers to growing families.
