Celebrating affordable homes partnership at Stortford Fields
31 July 2025
Four families are preparing to move into their new houses at Stortford Fields after the latest homes for shared ownership were completed.
The new homes, a mix of two and three-bedroom family houses, have been finished to a high standard and come complete with flooring and turfed gardens, ready for the new owners to move straight in.
Cllr Mione Goldspink, Deputy Leader of East Herts Council and Executive Member for Neighbourhoods, visited the homes last week to see the high-quality finish offered and was impressed by the spacious properties being provided.
The homes will be taken on by affordable housing partner HSPG and made available for shared ownership to help individuals and families whose needs are not met by the open market.
Cllr Goldspink, who represents Bishops Stortford North, said: “These well-planned houses will offer families a place to call home in this new community at Stortford Fields. I was delighted to see the environmentally friendly features of solar panels, air-source heat pumps and EV charging points. I am sure that these houses will make lovely, comfortable homes.”
Dan Watson, Head of Acquisitions for HSPG, said: "We’re proud to work with Persimmon and East Herts Council to deliver these homes and ensure those who may not be able to buy on the open market can either buy their first home or take a step up the property ladder and upsize to meet their growing needs.”
Richard Hush, Managing Director of Essex, said: “We are delighted to complete these homes so that local families can move in and enjoy this wonderful new community that is being constructed at Bishops Stortford.
“Persimmon is committed to meeting a wide range of housing needs within the communities where we are building and these homes are a prime example of this.”
Essex region are currently building 124 new homes as part of the wider Stortford Fields community, including 36 for social rent and 12 shared ownership homes.
Once complete, Stortford Fields will consist of a total of 2,200 new homes, plus schools and local centres.
