We have helped an 11-year-old Northampton-based aspiring astronomer to raise awareness of his work in local schools.
The Midlands team has worked with Aston Smith and his family to help promote his book, Things About Space, which has sold hundreds of copies worldwide.
Aston, 11 is a keen aspiring astronomer with a fascination around all things space. Living with ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) and ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) at the age of 8 years old, he decided to create and publish a book containing facts about our solar system. Aston then wrote his second book, Things About Space at 10.
After meeting Aston and his family, the team worked with Hunsbury Park Primary School in Northampton where 209 copies of Things About Space were donated. The school hosted Aston while he spoke at the assembly about his work to bring his ideas to life in his book
Aston said: “I am so grateful for Persimmon Homes helping me to achieve my dream of sharing my book with schools. I am enjoying speaking to other kids about my love of space and answering their questions about space!”
Claire Dearsley, Sales Director at Persimmon Homes Midlands, said: “What we do is about so much more than building quality homes; it’s also about ensuring that we support the people who live in the communities we build.
“It’s been a delight to get to know Aston and his family and to be able to help them promote Things About Space in local schools.”
