New homes in Stockton unanimously approved

Stockton-on-Tees Borough Councillors have voted unanimously to approve the development of 345 new homes in Ingleby Barwick.
Members of the Council’s planning committee yesterday approved a joint application from Persimmon and Keepmoat for 345 new homes including 69 to be transferred to a housing association or sold at below market value.
The site is allocated for housing in the Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council Local Plan and will provide a range of house sizes from bungalows up to four-bedroom properties.
A net gain in biodiversity will also be achieved on the site, alongside pedestrian connectivity into the wider Ingleby Barwick area and bus stops linking into the existing spine road.
Richard Holland, Land Director at Persimmon Teesside said: “This development will provide 345 much needed high quality new homes in Stockton for local homebuyers.
“There will be a range of high-quality and energy efficient homes suitable for first-time buyers, families and downsizers alike at prices people can afford.
“We look forward to starting construction on the site that with its extensive transport links and excellent local amenities, we’re sure will prove extremally popular with local homebuyers.”
Ian Worgan, Regional Managing Director at Keepmoat North East, added: “We’re pleased that Stockton Council has approved the plans for 345 much-needed new homes in Ingleby Barwick.
“This development will deliver a range of environmental and economic benefits, including robust pedestrian access to Ingleby Barwick, improved road infrastructure and bus services, along with biodiversity net gain to help support local wildlife and natural habitats, in line with the Government’s Environment Bill, ensuring natural environments are properly managed.
“We’re looking forward to starting work on site to begin bringing the scheme to life.”
