Parkinson’s dance classes given grand support
25 January 2022

A group putting on dance classes for people living with Parkinson’s has received a £1,000 boost.
National Dance Company Wales' award-winning Dance for Parkinson’s programme, in partnership with English National Ballet, brings together those living with Parkinson’s and their carers and family members for a weekly dance session.
The project has received the financial gift from Persimmon through our Community Champions scheme.
Each month we donate up to £64,000 to good causes across the UK – and up to £4,000 to groups in Wales.
Rebecca Hobbs, National Dance Company Wales, said: “We are extremely grateful to Persimmon Homes for this generous donation.
“Our classes are expressive, creative, and promote feelings of freedom from the physical and social constraints of having Parkinson’s, whilst helping to temporarily relieve symptoms.
“We are raising money to enable the continuation of the programme in four different locations across Wales during the Spring, to ensure that those living with Parkinson’s continue to keep fit and healthy, and to help combat loneliness.
“Having been hit hard by the pandemic, this money is a great boost.”
Victoria Williams, Sales Director at East Wales, said: “We’re delighted to be able to support National Dance Company Wales with this money.
“We were really impressed to hear about this programme for those living with Parkinson’s and hope that the funding helps it continue and thrive in the months to come.”
We currently have stunning homes for sale across South Wales, including St Ederyns Village in Cardiff and The Parish @ Llanilltern Village in Creigiau.
