Persimmon Homes sponsors annual cliff top Santa Dash
13 November 2024
Five-star homebuilder Persimmon Homes Anglia has signed up to support St Elizabeth East Coast Hospice’s annual Christmas fun run.
Hundreds of runners – including several from Persimmon - will gather at Gorleston promenade on Sunday, December 8 for this year’s event, each donning a bright red Santa hat as they raise vital funds for the charity.
This year Persimmon Homes has donated £1,000 towards the cost of organising the event, meaning even more of the money raised by runners can go straight to St Elizabeth East Coast Hospice, and help them as they deliver care to those who are living with a progressive or life-limiting illness.
Each year the hospice delivers care to over 4,000 patients and their families throughout East & Mid Suffolk, Great Yarmouth and Waveney, and they raise millions each year to ensure they can keep services running.
Sarah Stafford, Corporate and Sponsorship Fundraiser for the charity, visited Persimmon Homes’ Bluebell Meadow development in Bradwell, close to where the run takes place, to accept a cheque from Jorden Knell, Sales Director at Persimmon Anglia, and Debi Sherman, Head of Planning for the five-star housebuilder.
She said: “We are grateful to Persimmon Homes Anglia for sponsoring our Santa Dash this year and look forward to welcoming their runners to Gorleston Promenade.
“This is an important event for us, boosting funds ahead of the Christmas period and also raising awareness of the hospice and the services we provide.”
Jorden Knell added: “At Persimmon Homes Anglia we run the Community Champions scheme to support good causes in the areas in which we are building and to create a lasting legacy within the community.
“It is a pleasure to sponsor such an important event here in the Great Yarmouth area and to know that we are helping the hospice raise money to support families when they need it most.”
Cllr Carl Smith, Leader of Great Yarmouth Borough Council, joined the presentation and took the opportunity to learn more about the latest phase of development at Bluebell Meadow.
Cllr Smith said: “I would like to thank Persimmon for supporting St Elizabeth East Coast Hospice and helping them host this popular annual event for the community.
“Persimmon have a great history here in Great Yarmouth, building homes for local people with 75% of homes within the latest phase of the Bluebell Meadow development sold to those already living in the borough. They also have a legacy of supporting charities and organisations through their Community Champions scheme.”
