Ribbon cut on new Bridgend showhome

A stunning new showhome is causing a stir with househunters after the doors were swung open at a development in Bridgend.
We’ve cut the ribbon on our brand new three-bedroom Derwent style showhome at Llys Ystrad in Cefn Glas.
We’re currently building 127 new homes at the former Ysgol Bryn Castell site on Llangewydd Road.
The fully decorated property will give househunters the chance to see first-hand the type of homes available at the development.
Sharon Bouhali, Sales Director at Persimmon Homes West Wales, said: “We’re delighted to open the doors to our showhome at Llys Ystrad.
“The development was launched in October and has proved extremely popular with people keen to move to this beautiful part of the country.
“The opening of the showhome is always a significant milestone as househunters love to walk into a real house to examine the product and to imagine how their new home could look if they buy with us.
“We look forward to welcoming people to site.”
The Derwent is a popular three-bedroom home which benefits from a stylish open plan kitchen/diner with French doors leading into the garden.
The Derwent's bright front aspect living room, separate utility room, handy storage cupboard and downstairs cloakroom complete the ground floor. Upstairs, bedroom one has an ensuite and there's a good-sized family bathroom and further storage.
The Government-backed Help to Buy – Wales scheme is available at Llys Ystrad, an initiative where buyers only need a five per cent deposit.
There are two, three and four-bedroom homes available at Llys Ystrad.
We’re providing more than £500,000 towards the provision of secondary school and post-16 places serving the development.
In addition, the development will provide a massive boost to the local economy through the construction industry and its multiplier effect. According to research by the Home Builders Federation, for every £1 spent on housing £3 goes back into the economy and each home built creates 1.5 full time direct jobs. It is also estimated that at least twice that number of jobs is created in the supply chain.
