South Midlands team shows support to Stratford Family Club
27 November 2024
A family group in Stratford upon Avon that works to fight social isolation in parenthood has secured a £1,000 donation from our South Midlands team, helping them to expand their services in and around the community.
The group has recently been established and aims to combat loneliness in parenthood by establishing nurturing and accessible toddler groups each day of the week across the town. The funds given by Persimmon will help the group to fund its venue hire across Stratford upon Avon.
The donation was marked with a cheque presentation from Cllr Jason Fojtik, Mayor of Stratford-upon-Avon and Beth Lodge, Head of Sales at Persimmon Homes South Midlands.
Tilly, a parent who has benefited from Stratford Family Club’s services, said: “My son has special educational needs, of which include emotional and cognitive delays alongside significant physical challenges. From the first day we attended, he was included in every way. He was not judged, categorised or viewed for his difficulties and additional equipment, but instead encouraged and treated as the unique and wonderful little person that all our children are. I suddenly found myself surrounded by a group of adults who were so very kind and helpful.”
Naomi Cavanagh at Stratford Family Club said: “We want to say a huge thank you for the support that Persimmon is giving us with this amazing funding boost! It will enable us to continue our work supporting parents like Tilly and their families by offering them a nurturing place to come where there’s hot coffee, an ear to listen and a safe place for their children to play.”
Beth Lodge, Head of Sales at Persimmon Homes South Midlands said: “What we do is about much more than just building homes, it’s about leaving a lasting impact in the communities that we build in. We’re always delighted to lend a hand to local community groups to boost their ongoing initiatives or contribute to causes that mean a lot to them.”
“It’s great to be able to offer this £1,000 donation to Stratford Family Club, helping them establish their services this winter.”
