Suffolk go the extra mile for hospice
25 June 2025

Our Suffolk region has made a year-long commitment to support St Elizabeth Hospice – and has already handed over more than £15,000 to the charity.
Suffolk sponsored last month’s Midnight Walk through Ipswich after adopting the hospice as their charity of the year.
As well as being headline sponsor, the Great Blakenham-based team stepped up to take part in the marathon trek and raise even more for the vital cause.
The combined total from the sponsorship and the fundraising has now reached £15,200 and team members visited the hospice in Foxhall Road, Ipswich to hand over the money and see how it would be used.
They have vowed to continue their fundraising drive with a golf day planned for September, a bring-your-dog-to-work day scheduled and regular dress down days taking place.
Lucy Woodhall, Sales Director for Suffolk, completed the seven-mile circular route with colleagues from the Regional Head Office.
She said: “Seeing the services the hospice offers, not only patients but also their wider families, has made us even more determined to continue our fundraising this year.
“At Persimmon we are proud of the role we play in the community here in Suffolk and it is an honour to support a charity that really is at the heart of that community.”
Cllr Neil MacDonald, Leader of Ipswich Borough Council, joined representatives from Persimmon on a tour of the hospice and said: “It is good to see a local business putting something back into the community, by supporting the wonderful facility that the hospice team has created."
Sarah Stafford, Fundraising Manager at St Elizabeth Hospice, said: “We are incredibly grateful for all Persimmon Homes Suffolk’s support. We were delighted when they agreed to be the headline sponsor for this year’s Midnight Walk.
“Their generous support made the event a huge success and the staff who took part in the walk raised an amazing amount of money for the hospice. It has been an absolute pleasure working with Persimmon Homes Suffolk, their enthusiasm and commitment to the cause will help make a real difference to all the patients and families under our care.”
