A degree apprentice in our North Midlands team is celebrating her career with Persimmon so far, having joined us in 2019 as a Trainee Accounts Clerk to now making the switch to working in our Commercial team.

Kyla Glennon joined the North Midlands team four years ago, completing a number of finance related qualifications in that time. With the Finance and Commercial teams working closely together, Kyla gained an insight into the work of Surveyors and became interested in a career change as a result.

Now studying part time at Nottingham Trent University, Kyla is completing a five-year degree apprenticeship, which will see her become a Chartered Surveyor upon completion.

Kyla said: “I’m loving my time on the degree apprenticeship and learning from the Commercial team, it’s been incredible so far. The team have been so welcoming and supportive, with someone on hand to answer any questions I may have.

“It’s been really exciting to gain a deeper knowledge and understanding of how Persimmon operates as a business, as well as the specific aspects of the role – including managing budgets, costs, comparisons and valuations.

“I’m so happy I made the decision to start working with the Commercial team – and grateful I was given the opportunity and support in order for this change to be made. I’m very much looking forward to progressing further and continuing my career!”
